Big Foot Girl with a Grudge!
I admit it. I have big ole feet. I wear a big shoe. But I do wear it well. After 3 kids my feet grew. So they are even bigger than they were when they were just big. Anyway, it just makes shoe shopping an act of desperation. I’m ordinarily a sale woman. But when it comes to shoes, I have to buy my size 10-11 when I can get them. The good news is that I have found a few dependable retailers for larger sizes. Nordstrom for one. They are sooo good at that store. They will stock 11’s if the shoe’s are made in that size. But, what I don’t understand, is that they will only buy 4 size 11’s and to 100 size 8’s. Then when the sale comes, what’s leftover? 59 size 8’s. Nordstrom.com also does a nice job of stocking larger sizes. Zappo’s has a dizzying array of large sizes. I nearly lost my mind the first time I logged onto that site. I don’t care for all of their shoes, but I can do a little damage at Nine West, and they too stock up to 11’s in most styles. My new favorte shopping site Piperlime also has a great variety of larger size shoes. On the higher end, I can usually find beautiful designer styles at SAKS. Look at the Brian Atwood cutie:
Not to mention that they have great sales.
I did a search on Google and found some interesting sites. Designer Shoes goes up to a women’s size 15!
When I look at Steve Madden shoes in stores, they barely have a 10, let alone an 11, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that they offer extended sizes on their website, up to a 12. Shoes.com claimed to have a large variety of large sizes, but when I searched on women’s size 11 they came up with zip.
With so many choices, I may just have to get over my grudge.

[...] Shoe Shopping in new Westfield Mall December 1st, 2006 by Tracey I went shoe shopping at the new Westfield Mall in San Francisco last night. What an experience! My first near visit to near heaven was in the Jimmy Choo boutique in the new Bloomingdales. There wasn’t an endless array of shoes, but the ones duly represented were just lovely. No purchases made though, I’m on a tight budget and my favorite word related to shoes is SALE. Made my way through the mall and spied many other gorgeous shoes along the way. But being that I’m a big foot girl, I made my way directly to NORDSTROM where I hit the jackpot. [...]

[...] Now, I wear a large size shoe; I am admittedly a big foot girl, so I have avoided white shoes like the plague all my life. It’s kind of like that optical illusion of wearing black — you look slimmer. So most of my shoes are that ever-so-fashionable black. But I’m really rethinking the propostion of white shoes. I’m seeing sooo many that are white hot! [...]

Get this, I have found a shoe store where they actually consider me a SMALL size! (and I’m a size 11). At Dreamshoes, they start at 11 and go all the way to 15. The shoes are actually cute and reasonably priced. They are in the LA area and they have a website http://www.shoesofyourdreams.com. After I have kids I’ll probably be a size 12, and I’ll still have plenty of choices.
