I suppose when you are a billionaire teen and your favorite shoe designer is Christian Louboutin, that can get you a date with the king of Red Carpet Heels. Ashley and Christian Louboutin were together at the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute Benefit Gala. I’m sure Ashely was wearing Christian Louboutin shoes, but you just can’t see them under that floor sweeping gown she has on. She does look elegant, I must say.

There were plenty of other stars there as well — Lindsay Lohan, Kate Moss, Salma Hayek. Supermodels were abundant, so no doubt there were thousands of dollars of Christian Louboutin shoes sprinkled among the crowd.

Now, I don’t really think of Pam Anderson as a designer shoe girl. But she is. I spotted her with a pair of Gucci platform pumps that I could die for. And now here Pam is at a PETA event wearaing a gorgeous beige suede Christian Louboutin peep toe pump. Pamela Anderson was introducing PETA Chief Dan Mathews at L.A. Times Festival of Books but the shoes got my attention. I know that it’s typical for stars, models etc, to put tape on the bottom of their shoes, but Pam, take the tape off when you are showing that gorgeous Christian Louboutin red leather sole!

Now if we could just get her to work on that wardrobe.

So I’m a little late on the bandwagon with this story, but I decided to add my two cents anyway. Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice, wife of hottie soccer superstar David Beckham had the ultimate materialistic birthday from her hubby. While most women are satisfied if their husbands even remember their birthday within the proper week, let alone think of getting a card and/or present, that Posh Victoria Beckham was first whisked away from the US to Paris via private jet. Then she was treated to a private shopping spree at Christian Louboutin in Paris. Yes, the boutique close down for the Beckhams. Reportedly, Miss Vick picked out a pair of $1500 Christian Louboutin Shoes.

And the shopping didn’t end there. They proceeded on to Azzedine Alaia where she spent thousands. Of course there was more shopping and an evening that culinated at the Ritz Carlton.

I would love to wear $1,500 Christian Louboutin boots to work to mop and wash windows. That’s exactly what Naomi Campbell strutted on her way to report for her cleaning duty — punishment for throwing a crytsal studded Blackberry at her assistant.

Reformed supermodel NAOMI CAMPBELL’s community service wardrobe has lead to a huge demand for Christian Louboutin boots.

The English beauty, 36, wore a string of expensive, designer labels as she arrived every day for her week-long stint at New York City’s Sanitation Department last month (MAR07). Once inside, she changed into department regulation workwear.
Campbell was ordered to clean the department as punishment for attacking her maid ANA SCOLAVINO in March 2006.
One of the mornings she arrived for work, Campbell wowed the paparazzi in a pair of spike-heeled Louboutin boots, of which only a few existed.
Campbell explains, “One my first day I wore a Ralph Lauren coat, a cashmere shawl and Christina Louboutin boots. Christian got 12 hundred orders from that day.
“He wasn’t going to make those boots - now he is.”

Okay, I guess I’m on a celebrity-Christian Louboutin-wearing-hate binge. Yesterday it’s Halle wearing my favorite Louboutin’s. Today it’s Nicky Hilton. I rhink I need a new job. One that blesses me with an infinite array of gorgeous designer shoes.

So what if Nicky can spend $720 on a new pair of Cbristian Louboutin shoes. I will just get these knock offs for $39.99.

Umm, don’t think so. Can’t do it. I’ll just save up for the real thing.

Halle just got her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and I’m really proud of her. But why did she have to wear my favorite pair of Christian Louboutin shoes for which I’m saving. And saving. I really, really, really hate the look of plain ole toe nails peeking from an open toe shoe or sandal. It just think it’s plain ugly. I see this everyday on the street. And I suppose that’s ok. But when I see celebrities who are making goo gobs of money with naked toe nails, it really irks me. I mean, they spend hundreds of dollars on the shoes for the red carpet occasion. Designers like Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin, Stuart Weitzman, Brian Atwood, Manolo Blahnik among others grace their pampered feet. I’m sure they have pedicures before the occasion as well. At least I hope so. (If not, I can hook them up for $15) So why not just put a little paint on those tootsies??? It greatly improves the presentation.

Any woman who is a true devotee of beautiful shoes, must give all due homage to Christian Louboutin. The current issue of Allure features Chrisitan Louboutin as an modern day influencer in fashion. I’m not one to argue. He makes the most beautiful shoes. He clearly understands what makes a woman drool over leather and straps. The coveted red sole makes more red carpet appearances than any other shoe. If I could afford a wardrobe of Christian Louboutin shoes, I’d probably be afraid to wear them. I wouldn’t want to scuff that gorgeous sole. In the meantime, I’m satisfied to add yet one more pair to my lust list.

I’m really over all the Lindsay Lohan frenzy. But I have to give the girl credit. She has great taste. She always looks fabulous when arriving at events. I don’t know about leaving events, but her poses for the paparazzi are spectacular. Well, I’m probably just gushing because she has such an awesome shoe wardrobe. On a serious note, how did our society evolve to one where teenage girls wear shoes that cost hundreds of dollars? What does this tell my daughters about the value of material things? Does it really matter that they make millions and can afford a lavish lifestyle? When I think of how I save my pennies to purchase a pair of pricy shoes that I just love, I cringe at the thought of a teen buying the same item with abandon.

For me as a parent, it’s imperative to instill not only values regarding morals, civic duty and charity with my daughters. But values regarding a cold hard cash are equally important. While it’s a pleasure to have beautiful expensive things (shoes in particular), true happiness in life comes from fulfilling oneself mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.

And a new pair of shoes once in a while doesn’t hurt either.
