Lindsay Lohan Loves Shoes

Thursday, January 4th, 2007

I’m really over all the Lindsay Lohan frenzy. But I have to give the girl credit. She has great taste. She always looks fabulous when arriving at events. I don’t know about leaving events, but her poses for the paparazzi are spectacular. Well, I’m probably just gushing because she has such an awesome shoe wardrobe. As a girl who LOVES Christian Louboutin shoes, and has to pinch pennies for a SINGLE pair, I’m in awe at her Louboutin collection. At least what we see on the red carpet. How does that exquisite red leather sole manage to creep into pictures? Do the stars learn how to pose so as to show off the new Louboutins?

Here are a few sightings of Lindsay in lovely Louboutin shoes.

And wait, there’s more!

And of course the requisite rear pose definitely shows off the tell tale red sole of Christian Louboutin craftmanship.

On a serious note, how did our society evolve to one where teenage girls wear shoes that cost hundreds of dollars? What does this tell my daughters about the value of material things? Does it really matter that they make millions and can afford a lavish lifestyle? When I think of how I save my pennies to purchase a pair of pricy shoes that I just love, I cringe at the thought of a teen buying the same item with abandon.

For me as a parent, it’s imperative to instill not only values regarding morals, civic duty and charity with my daughters. But values regarding a cold hard cash are equally important. While it’s a pleasure to have beautiful expensive things (shoes in particular), true happiness in life comes from fulfilling oneself mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.

And a new pair of shoes once in a while doesn’t hurt either.

Perfect Party Shoes

Wednesday, December 13th, 2006

Did you know one of the best ways to intimidate a person is to look at their feet, back at their face, and back down to their feet? Unless of course, that person is wearing fabulous shoes, they won’t be intimidated. They will have ultimate shoe confidence. This party season, you too should have ultimate shoe confidence.

I spell shoe confidence S-E-X-Y! I know, I know, I love a beautiful shoe with a high - very high - heel. The details also make all the difference. For the perfect party shoes, check out the choices below:
hollywould-red.jpg

1. Seeing Red
A gorgeous red shoe is all you’ll need with jeans or a little black cocktail dress. Ava by Hollywould is just perfect. The slingback, bow and color will make you stand out in a crowd. $495 at Piperlime.

2. Patent Pendingstuart-weitzman.jpg
Patent leather isn’t just for little girls. This Stuart Weitzman 4 inch heel patent leather number named fever is hot! Available in Nordstrom Salon shoes. This shoe is perfect not just for a night out on the town, but for the office as well.

3. Black Powerbebe-red-sole.jpg

You can rarely go wrong with black shoes. And if you are attending a formal occasion, an awesome pair of black evening shoes is just the ticket. Bebe has a pair of suede platform pumps with a black patent ankle strap that is too cute for words. And what is unbelievable about these shoes is that they have a red sole. Yes, the cherished Christian Louboutin red sole. How the heck is Bebe getting away with that. It’s kind of like pagerism.

4. Bring on the Bling. jimmy-choo-studded.jpg

Glitzy shoes make a spectacular entrance and enviable exit. Just imagine the heads that will turn when you strut your stuff in these bejeweled Jimmy Choos. For all the bling factor with these shoes, let’s not forget that they are at the same time classic. Ten years from now, these very same shoes would make a grand entrance and exit all over again. And for the asking price, they better.

5. The Price is Right
Now if you just need a cute pair of shoes that you can throw in the closet and forget about as soon as the night is over, check out these sassy sandals from Payless. With jewels and bows and priced under $25, you can’t go wrong.

Get your party shoes on. Go out there an intimidate!

Shoe Lust List

Friday, December 1st, 2006

I decided to change the name of my weekly shoe pick to lust list. After all, I can’t afford all these shoes, but a girl can wish! I have two new pair of shoes for my list this week (dropped the ball last week).

Both of my picks are in the black patent category.

First is by Brian Atwood. I’m just loving this guy’s shoes. Black Patent with ankle strap and platform. Just gorgeous. I’ve had my eye on them for awhile, and now they are on sale at Saks.

Second, but surely not second in beauty, is by none other than Christian Louboutain. Black patent open toe Mary Jane. What a beautiful twist on a classic.

Chrisitian Louboutin Sightings — Nicole Ritchie & Rachel Stevens

Tuesday, November 14th, 2006

Can’t miss that red leather Christian Louboutin sole. Especially on celebrities. Check out the classic Louboutin Rachel Stevens is wearing at the James Bond Casino Royale Premier. I do think that at strappy metallic with some glitzy stones would have done better, but oh well. At least the shoes are Christian.

Now, our favorite skinny girl to dis, Nicole Ritchie. She’s wearing very hot Christian Louboutin platform peep toe pumps, but those legs. I think that she must be having difficulty lifting her leg. The shoes look like they may be holding her to earth in case a gust of wind appears out of nowhere.

Great shoes. Just not worn so well. Needless to say, I could do a much better job wearing either pair…

Eva is Wearing My Shoes

Thursday, November 9th, 2006

What one shoe am I lusting after more than any other this season? You know it. Go back to my On the Prowl post. The leopard print pump. And here Eva Longoria is wearing them. The red sole is a dead giveaway. eva-longoria-in-christian-lou.jpgNot just leopard print, but Christian Louboutin leopard print. I hear that when she and Tony Parker were planning a house together, he was surprised to hear that she needed a major closet for her shoes. Now that’s a girl after my own heart.

On the Prowl

Monday, October 23rd, 2006

Leopard print is hot, very hot this season. You can go full fledged leopard and don an entire coat in faux leopard. Or maybe a cute little leopard print sweater set is more your style. Or you can reverse it up and wear your print on the bottom in a stylish skirt. (Please no leopard pants. Unless you’re going to “work).

A firm believer in the less-is-more philosophy (except when it comes to coffee and chocolate), I think I’ll make do with a leopard print collar on my coat, and of course a leopard print shoe. GRRRRRRR! Everyone is making these shoes. There available in Stilettos, slingbacks, platforms, sandals and mules. If you think you need camouflage gear, you can cop a whole boot full of leopard print. No matter your budget you can get a fly pair of leopard print shoes. Manolo Blahnik has some gorgeous black and white calf hair peep toes at Nieman Marcus at a cool $585. But these babies are a lifetime investment.
manolo-leopard-print.jpg
Not to be outdone is Christian Louboutin. His slingbacks are stunning and priced to sell at $625, also at Niemans.

If you are on a beer budget or if you don’t see yourself making a lifetime investment into the leopard print trend, check out Steve Madden. At around $115 at Zappos, they don’t break the bank and you have two trends in one - the platform pump and leopards print.

I also love this chic little Dolce & Gabbana. Just the perfect little heel, and not too much on the print. They can easily go from office to dinner to club. The D&G’s are coming in at $476 at Bluefly.com.dolce-and-gabbana-leopard.jpg
And of course we all have our days when that inner hoochie is dying to get out. For that special occasion, try the red patent Guess stiletto lined in leopard print. A Cool $115 at Zappos.com.

With all this leopard print trend setting you’re doing, don’t forget your fashionista baby girl. Check out the pink leopard print Keds. Hmmm, wonder if those come in my size?
