Kitson Shoes

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

kitson.jpgKitson, on hip Robertson Boulevard, in Los Angeles may be only 6 years old but it has already become the favorite stop for many celebrities and the who’s who in Hollywood.

kitson believes that shopping should be fun! There’s nothing better than getting some new shoes and there’s nothing even better than that then knowing that your favorite celebrates are wearing some of the same shoes you just purchases. Kitson has taken that same concept and made it even easier for “common folk” to purchase the same accessories as your fav celebs. Here’s how they make it fun and easy for you.

I have purchased a few items from the Kitson website and a few of the items I simply love from that store is the shoes I have purchased. Here are some of my favorites that they currently carry. And if you are ever in California, check out the main store, it’s AWESOME. Of course the paparazzi won’t be all in your face while shopping, but you may see them trying to snap a picture of someone else,;)

Every Girl Needs a Pair of Hot Red Shoes

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

I remember the first time I put a pair of red leather European Mary Janes on my little girl. She smiled, her eyes gleamed and she eagerly modeled her shoes for me. She was in love with those shoes. Unfortunately, I passed my love of shoes on to her, as she still has a penchant for cute expensive shoes. The point to this little anecdote is that as grown up girls, we still need red Mary Janes. But we need HOT red Mary Janes. Mary Janes with a stiletto heel. With a grown up red lipstick color. With a wicked pointed toe. Ones that make your legs look hotter than ever. And none other than the granddaddy of hot shoes himself, Manolo Blahnik, has a beautiful red Mary Jane patent snakeskin in his Spring collection. Lets just say the Mary Jane has grown up.

Christian Louboutin, Style Innovator

Monday, March 19th, 2007

Any woman who is a true devotee of beautiful shoes, must give all due homage to Christian Louboutin. The current issue of Allure features Chrisitan Louboutin as an modern day influencer in fashion. I’m not one to argue. He makes the most beautiful shoes. He clearly understands what makes a woman drool over leather and straps. The coveted red sole makes more red carpet appearances than any other shoe. If I could afford a wardrobe of Christian Louboutin shoes, I’d probably be afraid to wear them. I wouldn’t want to scuff that gorgeous sole. In the meantime, I’m satisfied to add yet one more pair to my lust list.

cl.jpg

• Metallic pewter leather.
• Peep toe.
• Covered platform sole and heel.
• Signature red sole.
• Made in Italy.
Abailable at Bergdorf Goodman for $785

In case anyone forgot, I’m a size 11M.

Valentino Leopard Wedge Just Added to my Lust List

Friday, December 29th, 2006

My lust list is gaining steam. This wedge by Valentino incorporates so many trends and manages to look fly without cheesiness at the same time. I love the wedge — leather in the front with the leopard on the wedge. I’m not usually a fan of T-straps, but this one would rock with jeans and a tunic or a casual party dress.

At Saks, $690.

Rich leather T-strap design with leopard-print haircalf band and wedge.

Lust List — I love Choos

Thursday, December 21st, 2006

I just can’t get enough of this guy’s shoes. Jimmy Choo makes such stylish pumps. They are always femenine and lovely. I have a pair of patent pointy toe pumps that I just love. I love them so much that I have taken to the shoe repair guy twice. They are just perfect. They seem to be my “go to” shoe. I have plenty of other shoes, but they fit well and look yummy.

BUT…
This Jimmy Choo Black Patent Pump has me ready to ditch my old stanbys. This baby could easily become my next “go to” shoe!

Lust List Updated

Wednesday, December 13th, 2006

Beleive it or not, my lust list this week doesn’t include stilettos, leopard print or a designer label. I’m determined to be ultra fabulous by the time my big 50 rolls around next year, so I need to get in better shape. So number one on my lust list this week are a pair of MBT’s.

mbt.jpg

I know they aren’t cute at all, but I’m dreaming of how cute my lower half will be after wearing these for the next six months. That and laying off the french fries. And red wine. And chocolate. Maybe I’m reaching with the ultra fabulous goal. Maybe 50 and just fabulous isn’t such bad a combination after all.

Shoe Lust List

Friday, December 1st, 2006

I decided to change the name of my weekly shoe pick to lust list. After all, I can’t afford all these shoes, but a girl can wish! I have two new pair of shoes for my list this week (dropped the ball last week).

Both of my picks are in the black patent category.

First is by Brian Atwood. I’m just loving this guy’s shoes. Black Patent with ankle strap and platform. Just gorgeous. I’ve had my eye on them for awhile, and now they are on sale at Saks.

brian-atwood.jpg

Second, but surely not second in beauty, is by none other than Christian Louboutain. Black patent open toe Mary Jane. What a beautiful twist on a classic.

Brian Atwood — Weekly Shoe Pick

Wednesday, November 15th, 2006

Oh, do I love this saucy turquoise patent sling back platform pump from Brian Atwood. What puts this shoe over the top is the lucite heel. How retro is that? Or it could be a tribute to hooker style. Or pole dancing style. I personally relate that lucite heel to the disco era. Who can forget those platforms with the lucite fishbowl heel?

brian-atwood-slingback-with-lucite-heel.jpg
At any rate, these awesome pumps would be at home in South Beach or South of France. And for me in San Francisco, it would have to be South of Market. Obviously sitting, because I sure as heck coudln’t walk very far in those heels. They have to be at least 4 inches.

Ok, that’s it. Wednesday’s shoe pick! Check back next Wednesday.

Shoe of the Week — Gold leather Sergio Rossi

Wednesday, November 8th, 2006

Last week it was Valentino for my weekly shoe pick. This week the honor goes to Sergio Rossi. Another Italian. Hmmm, I think I see a theme emerging here. These lovely gold leather and nude satin stunners can go from jeans to glam dresses. sergio-rossi.jpg
Mind you, my recent picks are Spring ‘07 shoes, so they may be a little hard to find right now. Do you have a favorite shoe pick? Let me know, I may very well agree and it could be next weeks shoe of the week.

Weekly Shoe Pick

Wednesday, November 1st, 2006

Ok, I’m stealing this from Trudy over at The Elementary Chef, but Wednesday’s are for Shoe Picks! (Thanks Trudy!) I got my InStyle Spring 2007 AccessoriesReport today, and OMG, the shoes. There were so many reported on that I fell in love with, that I should just feature a new one each week, rather than inundate you with too many at once. My first pick is this Valentino open toe pump.
valentino.jpg
It’s bone leather D’Orsay with a Black Patent bow. I think it’s versatile — can be dressed up or down. What do you think?

About Shoe Boxers

Would you rather spend your last dollar on a killer pair of Jimmy Choo stilettos or save your cash and traipse around town in a pair of last years flip flops? If you chose the latter, this site is not for you. Shoeboxers is for the Shoe Diva. For the girl who stands out in a crowd – likely because her 4 inch heels have her towering over everyone else.
