Love those Ferragamo’s
I had an opportunity over the weekend to wear one of my favorite pair of Ferragamo’s. As I had my legs crossed and glanced down at the superb workmanship in my shoes, I thought, boy these Italian’s have got it going on. Their food is great, wine is even better, the men are gorgeous and the shoes are fabulous. It’s all in the details. Now your average person could probably care less about details. They just want some shoes to get them to point A to point B. Not I. I love the workmanship in an Italian made shoe.
There is even an association for the folks that crank out these works of art for the feet —
A.N.C.I. - The National Association of Italian Footwear Manufacturers - groups together Italian footwear manufacturers…The association is particularly dedicated to promoting the category on the most important foreign markets in order to ensure the good image and the presence of Italian footwear which is renown for its creativity, style, original design and precision workmanship of an artisan nature, as well as for the use of carefully selected materials.
Back to my Ferragamo’s. I have to admit that many of Ferragamo’s shoes look like they are for your grandmother, but not mine. They shout DIVA. The details. Leather lining. Stiched inside and out. A tiny strap with a tiny buckle with a flash of red metal in the clasp that reaveals just the ideal amount of toe cleavage. A metal plate on the leather sole to prevent slipping and wear at the back of the ball of the foot. Extra stitching on the sole. Supple leather that only looks better with wear. This is just one pair of shoes.
(A bit of Ferragamo trivia. Did you know he made the famous Ruby Slippers for the Wizard of OZ?)![]()
So, there’s Ferragamo, the infamous Bruno Magli that O.J. Simpson made a household name, TOD’s, Roberto Cavelli, Giuseppe Zanotti, Luciano Padovan, Forzieri, Fendi, Prada, Miu Miu and Gucci. I could go on, but I’ll stop. I’m making myself weak.

Help! I am obsessed with finding a way to get a pair of Viva La Diva Adjustable 2 strap boots. They don’t ship to the US. Does anyone have any suggestions? http://vivaladivacom.drct2u.com/productcache/VLD/BO3653/RH975FO.html.gz
Thanks!

Hey Hexa,
Wow, those are great boots. I like the adjustable strap. I searched the net like mad for them, and it looks like they are just available in the UK. Sorry!
