On the Prowl

by Tracey

Leopard print is hot, very hot this season. You can go full fledged leopard and don an entire coat in faux leopard. Or maybe a cute little leopard print sweater set is more your style. Or you can reverse it up and wear your print on the bottom in a stylish skirt. (Please no leopard pants. Unless you’re going to “work?).

A firm believer in the less-is-more philosophy (except when it comes to coffee and chocolate), I think I’ll make do with a leopard print collar on my coat, and of course a leopard print shoe. GRRRRRRR! Everyone is making these shoes. There available in Stilettos, slingbacks, platforms, sandals and mules. If you think you need camouflage gear, you can cop a whole boot full of leopard print. No matter your budget you can get a fly pair of leopard print shoes. Manolo Blahnik has some gorgeous black and white calf hair peep toes at Nieman Marcus at a cool $585. But these babies are a lifetime investment.

Not to be outdone is Christian Louboutin. His slingbacks are stunning and priced to sell at $625, also at Niemans.

If you are on a beer budget or if you don’t see yourself making a lifetime investment into the leopard print trend, check out Steve Madden. At around $115 at Zappos, they don’t break the bank and you have two trends in one - the platform pump and leopards print.

I also love this chic little Dolce & Gabbana. Just the perfect little heel, and not too much on the print. They can easily go from office to dinner to club. The D&G’s are coming in at $476 at Bluefly.com.dolce-and-gabbana-leopard.jpg
And of course we all have our days when that inner hoochie is dying to get out. For that special occasion, try the red patent Guess stiletto lined in leopard print. A Cool $115 at Zappos.com.

With all this leopard print trend setting you’re doing, don’t forget your fashionista baby girl. Check out the pink leopard print Keds. Hmmm, wonder if those come in my size?

[...] What one shoe am I lusting after more than any other this season? You know it. Go back to my On the Prowl post. The leopard print pump. And here Eva Longoria is wearing them. The red sole is a dead giveaway. Not just leopard print, but Christian Louboutin leopard print. I hear that when she and Tony Parker were planning a house together, he was surprised to hear that she needed a major closet for her shoes. Now that’s a girl after my own heart. [...]

  2. Shoe Boxers » Blog Archive » Lust List Updated Says:

[...] Lust List Updated December 13th, 2006 by Tracey Beleive it or not, my lust list this week doesn’t include stilettos, leopard print or a designer label. I’m determined to be ultra fabulous by the time my big 50 rolls around next year, so I need to get in better shape. So number one on my lust list this week are a pair of MBT’s. [...]

About Shoe Boxers

Would you rather spend your last dollar on a killer pair of Jimmy Choo stilettos or save your cash and traipse around town in a pair of last years flip flops? If you chose the latter, this site is not for you. Shoeboxers is for the Shoe Diva. For the girl who stands out in a crowd – likely because her 4 inch heels have her towering over everyone else.
