The following companies put more than just shoes on needy feet, they also help boost confidence and save the earth from shoes ending up in landfills.
• Soles United: This company takes your Croc shoes and recycles them into new pairs for needy bare feet in El Salvador and even in the Dominican Republic. They have donated over a million pairs to needy people in these countries so far.
• Samaritan’s Feet: This nonprofit group has set a goal of giving 10 million people in 10 million areas a pair of shoes in the next 10 years.
• Sole Responsibility: This group is made up of runners from Ottawa, Canada and they donate their old running shoes to needy children and adults over seas.
• The Shoe Bank: The Shoe Bank has been providing shoes for children here in the United States and over seas every year for the past 19 years.
• Boulder Running: This company is one of the best. Runners from Boulder, Colorado send their new or near to new running shoes and even equipment to three world countries.
Even if your aren’t close to any of these donation groups or would rather give back to your own area or country to ones in need. You can donate your old shoes that are in decent and near new condition to any Goodwill location or even Salvation Army location. These location take more than just unwanted shoes, they also take household items and other clothing items too. So do others a good service and get rid of those things taking up space in your garage and give to those who really are needy and could definitely use them.
