What’s the Proper Heel Height for your Dress?
Most prom, bridal and even elegant dress hops measure the heel height of high heels from the outside of the heel from the floor to the top of the heels. But, manufacturers of high heels measure the high heels height from the inside of the heel and up to where the heel meets the sole of the shoe in the back. So bee careful when ordering shoes or just buying them and not wearing them first. The best way to ensure you have the proper height is to try the heel on first before buying them.
Now to gather the proper height let’s start with skirts. If you a short person, you want to go with a heel that makes you look taller. Shorter people can get away with higher heels with almost any type of outfit because they will ultimately look taller no matter what they are pairing the high heel with. Be it pants suits, skirts or even a mini dress. Shorter people want to stay away from flats in a light color. They will over all make you look shorts.
Taller people can stick with the high heel when they aren’t taller than 5′6″ or 5′7″. Of course you can wear heels at any height or any way you feel necessary, but a good rule of thumb when it comes to dressing classy, is to not to tower over everyone else in the room. A good heel height for taller women is not taller than 2.5 or 3 inches. These heights work best with pants suits and longer or shorter dresses or skirts.
Another good rule is to never wear a short skirt after the age of 35. It is said that it is not very becoming.
