Yoga for your Feet

Yoga has been around for many centuries and it’s practiced everyday by many die-hard yogis. Yoga helps relieve stress, helps calm the nerves and even helps with weight loss when preformed on a regular basis, so why not use yoga to help with the pains in the feet as well. Here are a few yoga poses to help with the feet and their pain and stress from day to day. Try to perform these daily or whenever you wear shoes that seem to hurt more than help. All of these poses are common yoga poses, but when you are trying them out, really concentrate of your feet and what they are doing during the poses as well. Once you see where your feet are and how your body reacts then they will become more organic to you and you can practice them daily.
1. Mountain Pose (Tadasana): Stand with your feet together, core tightened and slowly raise your arms to where they are over your head. Concentrate on your feet. Dig your toes into the mat or carpet and flex those muscles within the feet.
2. Triangle (Trikonasana): Stand with your legs hip-width apart. Raise your arms to where your upper body and arms create a T with the body. Spread your legs wider than your hips and with your arms out wide, lean over into your left leg and hold for 30 seconds. Repeat with the other side. Your opposite arm should be reaching high into the sky. Where are your feet?
3. Downward Facing Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana): Stand with your feet and legs together and tighten your core. Lean forward to where your arms are touching the floor slightly in front of your feet. Begin to crawl out from your feet to where you are in an upside down V pattern. Raise your head and hold for 30 seconds. Keep your legs as straight as you can during this pose. Where are your feet?
